This is where you register for an account on this website. Registering amounts to a request for an account. Please read the following steps in detail before filling in and submitting the form.
Enter your account username. You will use this when logging into the web site, so please remember it!
We request that you choose your username so that we can easily identify who you are. For example, choose something like FirstName.LastName (note the intervening dot)
Note that this should NOT be your email address! Important!
Enter your First Name and Last Name
We need to find your details in our records. Many email addresses bear little or no obvious relationship to the user’s name. Please enter your first and last names so that we can find you more easily.
Enter your email address.
Accuracy is important here. Please be sure that this email address matches the one you provided when you signed up for the chorus. That way, we can more easily find you on the members list. Typos are common in this field — please be careful when you enter this.
Note that the website uses this email address to communicate with you — for example, if you need to reset or recover your password. If the email address is wrong, or no longer in service, you will not be able to receive emails from the website.
Enter your email address in the Confirm E-mail field.
The reason for this is to help avoid typos, which are common when users enter their email address. The contents of these two fields should be the same; if they are not, the form will tell you. Of course, this does not help if you consistently misspell your email address — it happens!
Enter your password in the Password field.
Please choose a password that 1) is long enough and that has a mix of characters (lower and upper case letters, digits, exclamation points, etc.) to ensure that no one can easily guess it, and 2) you can remember easily. Here are some useful guidelines on how to create a good password.
In the Repeat Password field, enter your password again
The reason for this is that it is common for people to make typing mistakes when entering a password. Requiring you to enter it twice, allows the system to detect when the two passwords are different, and to tell you that. As before, be sure that you don’t make the same typo in both fields!
In the final field, click on the box in the image to prove you are human.
This field is present to prevent automated registration attempts (so-called ‘bots’).
Check your entries, and then submit the form.
Once you’re registered by submitting this form, your account is waiting for approval (pending).
When we have ensured that you are a member in good standing, we will approve your account. (Please be patient; especially at the beginning of the semester, when lots of chorus members are signing up, it takes us a while to gather all the information about the chorus members and their email addresses.)
When we approve your account, you should receive an email telling you that your account is active. Please read the email carefully, and follow the instructions therein.
